Getting the call ...

My Charter Cable Commercial Callback went great. I only saw one other female there from the original audition, but also a few new faces. I got paired up with a new husband this time and he was extremely not hard on the eyes, (gotta love this job), and we did a great job playing off each other. Afterward, of course I did that crazy thing we actors do of what I could have done better, but I still got the "on avail" call from my agent. Yay. Unfortunately it was short lived. And I didn't get a booking call the week they were shooting. Over all it was a great way to start the new year, but it hurts when you get that close.

On another great note, my agent was named the February 2011 SAG Agent of the Month. Yay Casey. I was so happy for him and Reyna, his girlfriend threw a cool celebration get together.

Also working on making my marketing more in tune with my branding. It's gonna take some work, but it'll be a big pay off.

I Love Surprises ...

Had a great day today. Met with my financial consultant today. She putting me on the road to financial abundance. I'm really excited about this year and the possibilities. Plus loving this spring/summer like weather we've been having in La-La land.

Had a rehearsal for a staged reading that I'm doing tomorrow called The Bean Trial. It's a great piece and I'm excited about it. It's a comedy about terrorism. (you don't get to say that too often). Before going into the rehearsal, my agent emails me about a callback tomorrow for the Charter audition from last week. That made me feel real good. That was a new office that I've been in AND my commercial callback ratio has increased.

Tomorrow will be another awesome day. Totally looking forward to it.

On To The Next ...

Intensive Reading Weekend at Company of Angels

I had the blessing to read a brilliant new play by Julie Oni called "nat & em". Julie is now forever one of my favorite playwrights. I can't wait for the rest of the world to see and recognize her talents. Thanx Jules.

Audition at Digital Dogs Casting - Charter Cable.

Good funny stuff. When I get there, there's already several other Af-Am Actresses there waiting to audition for the role of the wife. But of course we all are sitting waiting patiently for the "husbands" to arrive. When the first one shows, of course he feels like a king because we all start to applaud. Good energy and way to release all the tension. Got to audition with an established actor and I think we did a great job.

Editing some film projects and putting the final touches on it. I hope they come out great.

And got a chance to see my fabu agent today to give him a belated Christmas/Thank You gift. I'm truly blessed to have him on my team. We had a good year in 2010. I know moving forward will only be bigger and better. Let's do it Case.

... on to the next.

New Year, New Adventures ...

Wow 2011 is here already. Ok I admit it, I'm a sucky blogger. But I know it's good to write about my adventures. I know that I'll look back on these and see how far I've come, because I know my success is eminent.

Had an audition today for Fox's Raising Hope. This is a very busy casting office and I'm so grateful for my awesome agent, Casey, who got me in the room. Now it was my time to do what I'm supposed to do.

It was a last minute call, so I prepped with my sides and watching a couple of the episodes on hulu. Very funny stuff. Did my research on the office and just trusted the prep that I did and the choices that I made.

The first one to go in and did a great job. I think it will depend on what their looking for but I know I delivered what I prepared. Yay me!!!

I got a new laptop for xmas and so It's helping me and my business move at the speed of light. Being more efficient and productive. Got a few potential new clients this week. Restructuring and reorganizing my business.

Life is awesome. Til the next one ...

... never give up five minutes before the miracle.

Typecasting ... Again

So I had my first audition of the year yesterday. For an indie feature film called, "God is not a Communist". Such a fun and great audition reading for the role of God. I felt good about what I prepared. Had em laughing and clapping. That's good cause it's a comedy. They asked me to stay and read another side for the part. Freezing cold read but I did my thing. Now on to the next.

It's Official

So it's official ... I am probably the worst blogger ever.

2009 was such a busy year in my life, but particularly in acting. I was truly blessed. Here's the 2009 acting recap: 3 feature films, 2 short films, 2 web series, 2 stage productions.

So my absence is justified but I'm gonna try to stay consistent, which isn't one of my strengths but I'm always able and ready to get back on the horse.

Downloaded a new iPhone app (blogpress) to help me stay consistent. We'll see how it goes.

Already doing be things for 2010. Producing my first stage production which opens in 4 days. An amazing script by Ronald McCants called The Peacock Men. Go to www.companyofangelsla.org for my info.

Just finished my first resolution of Jillian Michaels 2010 Ultimatum. For a Wii Fit game, she really kicks your ass. I love it. Way better than the 2009 version. It's gonna help with my quest to get into Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill 3.

Off to take over the world. Keep living the dream and never give up 5 minutes before the miracle.

xoxo

The Day That It Was "An End To A Great Week"

Even though I am self employed, you still gotta love Fridays. The fact that you've made it through another crazy week is truly an accomplishment. Even though a crazy week, it was still great. I signed with a new agent, and I just love his energy. I think its gonna be great working with him. And I had two great auditions that I felt really good about. I delivered what I wanted and left it in the room. And the season finale of Grey's Anatomy was kick ass. I just love that show. Shonda Rhimes is the business. I can totally see myself at Seattle Grace playing Chandra Wilson's taller but younger sister. LOL One day ...
